Michael Lanzerotti

POSITION: Senior Director

I grew up in Wheaton, IL and attended college at Valparaiso University for Mechanical Engineering. I moved to Cincinnati for GE Aviation and their Edison Engineering Development Program where I got involved with the new hire program and the Early Career Professional Organization at GE. I took over lead of Cincy YP and worked to develop a sustainable program.

What Cincy YP means to me:
Cincy YP is the glue that connects some of Cincinnati’s best young professional organizations and leaders. When I first arrived in Cincinnati, I quickly learned that communicating things to do in the city was an issue for newcomers and natives alike. Through Cincy YP, I want to create a better experience for YPs who are new to our city and for those who have already made it their home. Cincinnati is host to over 10 Fortune 500 companies and most have a young professional organizations that aid in retention by hosting events. What Cincy YP does, is allow for multiple companies, as well as non-profits, to pool their resources for great events in the greater Cincinnati area. By building connections in the community, we are able to make Cincinnati our home.

What I do for Cincy YP:
As the Senior Director, I overview all the officers and events, and help out in the election process. In 2014, I helped merged our organization with Give Back Cincinnati as a program where we maintain our internal organization. My role is to facilitate the incorporation of our new website, emails, and branding as we integrate with GBC. I aim to build Cincy YP into a self-sustaining organization to attract and maintain the younger working population, by improving the young professional network.

Favorite Cincy YP event:
My favorite event is the New Hire Happy Hour we held at MadTree Brewing Co. The even was planned just after the new college hires had started working in Cincinnati and was one of the most well attended events. For our networking game, we had a playing card number printed on all the name tags. A group of five people from different companies has to form a strait in order to win Enjoy the Arts Passes.

Fun Fact:
I enjoy service travel and have been to Haiti and Nicaragua.
